Statodellarte

A new paradigm between creation and society

We live in an age in which the voice of force is once again drowning out that of law: wars that multiply and become normalized, international courts ignored, principles once thought irreversible now presented as the naïve luxuries of an era that has ended.

Against this backdrop, the Fondazione Pistoletto Cittadellarte gives life to the Statodellarte, at once a work of art and a new form of civic organization. Founded on a Constitution that places the freedom of art and co-creation at the heart of living together, the Statodellarte recognizes the communities of practice in which we live and work as the basis of representation and as forces of peace rather than conflict, as engines of a fully sustainable development.

Preventive Peace
Peace is a creation. Peace is not the absence of war or conflict; it is not a passive state, nor a gift of history. It is an act of human intellect — something generated through relationship, mutual recognition and sustainability. We can make it a preventive reality, not merely a reactive one, through the gestures, choices and decisions of every day. War destroys. Peace is created.

Special programs
UR-RA

UR-RA is the Special Programme devoted to dialogue among the great spiritual and religious traditions. It springs from a conviction of Michelangelo Pistoletto: the word religion comes from religare, to bind and connect; and art, having become a mirror of the world through the Mirror Paintings, can retie the bond between spirituality and society. UR-RA brings Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam and secular thought into dialogue, making art a universal language of coexistence, mutual understanding and shared responsibility. The backdrop is always Preventive Peace: art as a territory of freedom in which differences become a foundation, not a threat. As a Special Programme of the Statodellarte, it expresses its own representatives in the Camera and brings the voice of communities of faith and thought into its workings.

Art and Enterprises Union (UAI)

Unione Arte e Imprese is the Statodellarte’s Special Programme dedicated to the
productive world. It engages businesses not as sponsors but as co-authors of a cultural transformation: organizations that take on the responsibility of placing art and creation at the centre of the way they do business. Through a structured path of engagement and collaboration, businesses contribute to projects with social and environmental impact and embed sustainability as a lever of value rather than a compliance exercise. Recognizing the enterprise as a community of practice — a micro-government spread throughout the social fabric — UAI turns it into an engine of fully sustainable development and Preventive Peace. As a Special Programme, it expresses its own representatives in the Camera dello Statodellarte, which ratifies projects while UAI carries out their implementation.

Unione Sport

Unione Sport is the Special Programme that recognizes sport as an authentic instrument of peace. In sport, competition does not aim to eliminate the opponent but to foster common progress and stronger human relationships: this is why it becomes a training ground for coexistence, a field of shared rules and cultural diplomacy. The programme — of which the book of the same name by Michelangelo Pistoletto and Fortunato d’Amico is an integral part — is built on a network of active nodes connecting people, sporting disciplines and territories, spreading a culture of peace lived in practice. Like the other Special Programmes of the Statodellarte, it expresses its own representatives in the Camera and contributes, through sport, to building Preventive Peace.
